発表要旨：
台風は、防災上重要な研究対象であるとともに、気象学の様々な要素が詰まった大変魅力的な現象でもある。本講演では、台風の入門的な話から始め、台風の強度変動とその統計モデル、そして最近行っている「説明可能AI」による台風の急発達の予測と理解の試みについて発表する。 Studying tropical cyclones is important for disaster prevention. Also, they are fascinating phenomena in which all kinds of meteorological aspects are relevant. In this seminar, I will briefly introduce tropical cyclones and their intensity changes, including a statistical prediction model. Then, I will present our recent study to predict and elucidate the rapid intensification by using an “explainable AI”.
